Locker Room hot foots it to the Bullring

BIRMINGHAM’S Bullring shopping centre continues to buck the retail trend by attracting new business. The centre, fresh from a bumper festive period, has lured a new retailer to one of its malls.

Sports footwear retailer Footlocker has selected the centre for one of its new concept Locker Room stores.

The 560m² (6,000ft²) store, which will be situated in the Lower Mall, focuses on sports performance footwear, showcasing brands including Nike, Adidas and Asics and will be the second of the new concept stores to open in the UK.

Set to open in time for Easter, Locker Room is aimed at customers of all ages and abilities from casual users to sport fanatics.

Locker Room is one of the first new stores to set up in the centre in 2012 and follows the opening of Vans, Jack Wolfskin and the new Spiceal Street restaurants during the final quarter of 2011.

Tim Walley, general manager at Bullring, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Locker Room to Birmingham bringing with it a new store concept for customers to experience and explore. Locker Room is the first of many new store openings at the centre this year as we continue to evolve our retail offering to meet the demand of our customers.”
