Festive sponsorship boost for Solihull BID

SOLIHULL Business Improvement District has secured new sponsorship deals to transform the town’s Christmas lights and give the Christmas Market chalets a makeover ahead of the festive season.

The BID has struck deals with flight and holiday operator Thomson and Farrow & Ball interiors. Thomson Holidays will be the headline sponsor of the new Solihull Christmas lights which will be switched on on November 22.

Management of the Christmas lights was recently taken over by the BID and the additional investment by Thomson will bring Solihull’s festive decorations up to date with some new lights across the town centre.

Meanwhile, the 60 chalets of the 2014 Solihull Christmas Market will get a festive makeover with more than 7,000 litres of Farrow & Ball paint in various shades and exclusive design wallpaper inside the Children’s grotto. The market will be open in Mell Square from November 29.

To attract footfall into the town centre, the BID is also running a ‘Believe in Solihull’ multi media campaign, tapping into the magic of Christmas and promoted through local press advertising, InSolihull magazine and on Chiltern Mainline services.

Melanie Palmer, of Solihull BID, said: “We are determined to make sure Solihull is the ultimate Christmas destination in the Midlands by creating a winter wonderland feel for families. I would like to thank Thomson and Farrow & Ball for their support in bringing our vision to life.”
