GVA strengthens roadside ranks

PROPERTY consultancy GVA has appointed Jill Astley to its national automotive and roadside ‎team.

GVA says that due to the nature of Astley’s experience in wider areas of her field the appointment diversifies the automotive and roadside opportunities available to GVA clients.

Astley joins as an associate based in the company’s Midlands office. She has 20 years’ experience in commercial property and was previously director leading‎ the real estate development team at Deloitte RE.

Her experience includes major development land disposals, development viability appraisals for single and large scale mixed-use schemes and valuation work, both for internal and disposal purposes.

Her past clients include Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), HCA, Forensic Archives and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Mainstay Commercial hires Charlton from CBRE

PROPERTY asset management company Mainstay has brought in David Charlton, formerly of CBRE, as its new head of commercial property management.

He was formerly an associate director within CBRE’s Birmingham office.
Charlton brings a wealth of experience in the management of mixed use schemes, office, industrial and retail properties.

In addition Emily Filer joins the commercial property management team, also from CBRE, as a senior surveyor.

Paul Crook, chief executive of Mainstay Group, said: “We are naturally delighted to have secured the services of both David and Emily, as their big firm background and experience will add a further dimension to our commercial property management capability.”

 

Wates appoints regional director

WATES Construction has announced the appointment of Richard Scarrott as business unit director for the Midlands.

The appointment comes as Wates prepares to grow its presence in sectors including commercial, industrial and manufacturing, and education.

Having been with the Birmingham-based contractor as operations director since July 2013, Scarrott will now oversee Wates’ portfolio for the region.

Current projects include the development of MTC’s Ansty Park in Coventry, the £20m expansion of intu Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent and the contractor’s place on Scape’s East Midlands Property Alliance frameworks.

Bringing more than 30 years of industry experience to the role, Scarrott will head-up the Midlands teams following his 18-month drive to enhance operational efficiency across the regional portfolio.
