Buyers snap up apartments at hotel conversion

Every home has now been sold at an apartment development near Ilkley Moor, which is due to be completed in November.

The multi-million pound conversion of Ilkley’s former Best Western Rombalds Hotel has seen the landmark Georgian period building transformed into eight apartments, including a twin balconied penthouse and a number of duplex units.

All homes at the development, known as The Rombalds, have been sold off market and off plan by estate agent Patrick McCutcheon of Dacre, Son & Hartley.

The scheme, by Burley Developments, is on Wells Road, a short walk from Ilkley town centre and the town’s iconic moor.

McCutcheon, head of residential sales at Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “This is an exciting scheme that has seen the sympathetic conversion of a well-known and much-loved former hotel.

“Once complete, the beautiful period property will provide eight superb apartments, which will all be finished to the highest of standards.

“West View is an incredibly popular part of Ilkley displaying an endearing Georgian heritage. All the town’s amenities are close by, while the famous moors are a stone’s throw away.

“The scheme has proved incredibly popular for those seeking a unique and elegant style of home. To sell an entire development off plan reconfirms the level of demand that exists in Ilkley for high specification homes like these, occupying a sought-after location and delivered by a highly reputable developer.

“Our expert knowledge on new build marketing and awareness of buyers’ needs, have helped considerably in delivering a very satisfactory result for the developer.”
