Dozens of homes built on previously derelict land

EQUANS, a new brand for global energy company ENGIE’s regeneration and services led activities, has partnered with Yorkshire Housing to create a 46-home development – “Titan Works.”
It is on land in Claremount Road, which had remained derelict for over ten years.
The development has been created to boost the area’s affordable housing provision, with the two and three-bedroom homes available for affordable rent through Yorkshire Housing and shared ownership through Space Homes. All the properties are now reserved.
Sean Corcoran, regional director at EQUANS, said: “It’s been great to continue our partnership with Yorkshire Housing to transform this brownfield site into a community for local families to enjoy.
“The combination of affordable tenures will truly benefit the area and go some way to help tackle the region’s need for more homes.”
Andy Gamble, executive director of growth and assets at Yorkshire Housing, said: “We’re proud to have completed this scheme to create a 100% affordable housing development.
“We’re delighted to have worked with EQUANS and with the support of the local authority, Homes England and Space Homes.
“The development gives customers the chance to have a place they’re proud to call home.
“There is a need for more affordable homes across Yorkshire, including homes that give people the chance to step on to the property ladder.
“We’re committed to building a total of 8,000 new mixed tenure homes by 2030 and this scheme has significantly contributed to this.”
Councillor Scott Patient, Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for climate change and resilience, said: “We’re thrilled that this great partnership project is now complete and people can soon start moving in to their brilliant new homes.
“Helping people onto the property ladder and boosting housing options for local families through affordable housing is really important to the council.
“By breathing new life into a previously unused site, we’ve seen yet another excellent example of the regeneration that’s happening throughout the borough as part of the Vision2024 for Calderdale.”
