Springwell occupancy levels accelerates second phase

THE second phase of development at a business park is set to be accelerated after the last remaining unit was sold at the site.

Eshton Gregory has sold its last remaining unit within phase one at Springwell 27 industrial and business park in Birstall, Leeds.

Dye technology support and parts business Advanced Dyeing Solutions has purchased a 6,850 sq ft unit for £335,000.

With all 11 units now sold within phase one of the site, a planning application has been submitted to increase the amount of accommodation in the second phase from 26,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft.

During the early stages of the project Ocado selected the site to house its 10,500 sq ft regional distribution depot and on the back of that success, Eshton Gregory built phase one, which provided approximately 30,000 sq ft of small units.

More than 200 jobs have been created at Springwell 27 over the last three years with deals agreed with major operators including Floorbrite, UPVC Maintainance, K R Hannaford, DSP Electrical and more recently to used JCB specialist T C Harrison Group.

Springwell 27 is a joint development by Gregory Property Group and Eshton Property Development.

Richard Tovey, director of Eshton Gregory, said: “The success of phase one at Springwell 27 serve to reinforce its excellent location. With all units now sold we are in a strong position to release the second phase of the scheme.”

Phase 2 will offer design and build opportunities ranging from 10,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft.

Joint marketing agents at the scheme are Carter Jonas and Dove Haigh Phillips.
