Insulation firm pre-lets 30,000 sq ft to build warehouse

A NATIONAL insulation and interior building products supplier, CCF, has signed on to pre-let 30,000 sq ft in Sheffield.

The business has taken a site at the Parkwood Industrial and Trade Park, on which it will build a new sales and distribution warehouse.

CCF, which offers products including ceilings, drywall, flooring, insulation, partitioning and fire protection, has agreed a 15-year lease.

It is looking to plug the geographical gap in its portfolio, with construction set to begin in late autumn. The site is already prepped for development.

The Travis Perkins group of which CCF is part, has businesses located at the Neepsend park already, through Toolstation, PTS and BSS.

Tom Boden, property acquisitions manager at Travis Perkins Plc, said: “This will be an exciting new addition to the CCF branch network and further expands the group’s profile.”

The Sheffield office of Knight Frank and Campbell and Co acted for landlord Cornerstone.

Rebecca Schofield, from Knight Frank in Sheffield, who are acting for Cornerstone, said: “Cornerstone embarked on an extensive refurbishment programme after buying the site 18 months ago and it has now become an established trade location home to well-known occupiers. It is a thriving industrial and trade park with a blend of consumer and trade visitors.

“They also identified and cleared the development plot which occupies a prominent, front position on to Rutland Road which was available on a build to suit basis.

“The chance to build bespoke accommodation for sales and distribution attracted CCF to the site.”

Graham Barker from Cornerstone added: “We welcome CCF to Parkwood. After purchasing the site around 18 months ago, we have invested significantly in refurbishing the vacant units, undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment to provide new roofs, replacement of concertina loading doors to provide modern up and over loading doors, refurbishment of warehouse and internal offices.

“It is very encouraging to see this deal exchange despite the economic uncertainty surrounding Brexit and demonstrates confidence in the town and this location.”

Other occupiers include Stancill Brewery, Edmundson Electrical, CLP, Toolstation, Panel Systems, Plumbase, GB Eye and Transonic Ltd.
