Housing plans approved for former North Yorkshire quarry site

PLANNING to transform a former quarry site in North Yorkshire into housing has been give the go ahead.
Gregory Property Group has secured detailed planning consent on a vacant site in Monk Fryston for residential development. The site off Abbeystone Way was formerly a quarry owned by the local authority.
Gregory has announced plans to start on site in November to build nine family properties including five four-bedroom detached homes and four three-bedroom town houses.
Andrew Foggitt of Gregory Property Group said: “We are pleased to acquire the site which is situated in a very attractive residential location and close to amenities on Main Street. Selby District Council recognises a requirement for more housing in the area and we are keen to support this agenda with completion by next Summer.
William H Brown is appointed to market the development.
Area new homes manager Lisa Lucas said: “We are very excited to release this scheme as there really is a pent up demand for homes of this quality in the area.
“Given that Monk Fryston hasn’t seen new build homes for more than a decade we expect the scheme to sell very quickly.”
