Pub company submits plans for 27-bed Notts hotel

A pubco has submitted plans for a 27-bed hotel next to one of its pubs in Nottinghamshire.
Marston’s want to build the two-storey, 8,654 sq ft hotel next to its Gamston Lock pub in Gamston.
The Gamston Lock pub (formally called The Bridge) was destroyed by a fire in December 2013, but was re-built and re-opened in October the following year. The blaze started in the kitchen during the daytime when the pub was full of diners.
Marston’s says it is aiming the new hotel at business travellers along with those visiting the area.
A planning statement from White Design of Sheffield reads: “The provision of a Lodge hotel will improve the sustainability of the site and the wider community, its businesses and housing (both existing and proposed) has established transport links (both public and private) with other towns, villages and cities of the wider County.”
If the scheme receives planning permission it will be built by Wildgoose Construction of Alfreton.
