Two East Mids restaurants make Good Food Guide 2019

A Nottingham fine dining restaurant has retained it status one of the best best in the country, according to influential new rankings.

The two Michelin-starred Restaurant Sat Bains came in fourth place in the Good Food Guide Top 50 Restaurants 2019.

Meanwhile, Hambleton Hall in Rutland made this year’s rankings, coming in at number 50. The restaurant boasts the longest-held Michelin star – having being awarded it in 1982.

Earlier this year Restaurant Sat Bains was been induced into this year’s Les Grandes Tables du Monde – the only new addition to the guide from the UK.

The organisation is a select group of restaurants with long-standing two or three Michelin star ratings. Sat Bains became one of 174 establishments in the world have been invited to join the exclusive club that was established in 1954 by six French chefs.

The two Michelin-starred Sat Bains, which is run by Sat and Amanda Bains, was one of just eight restaurants in the UK to be invited to the group.

In further good news for the East Midlands, Alex Bond, Chef and owner of Alchemilla Restaurant in Nottingham has been named as the Chef to Watch in the Waitrose Good Food Guide for 2019
