All change at the top for Lincolnshire law firm

(L-R): Paul Cooper, John Knight and Christine Pickwell

A pair of experienced solicitors at Lincolnshire legal practice Ringrose Law have announced their decision to step down after each spending over 30 years at the firm.

Senior partner Paul Cooper and partner Christine Pickwell will officially step down from the partnership on 30 April.

Cooper began his career in private practice in 1979. He was at Frost Gunning and Co when it merged with Grocock and Staniland in 1984 to form Ringrose & Co, now known as Ringrose Law. He has been head of the family department and an accredited family mediator for many years.

Pickwell, who will stay on in a consultancy role and head up the firm’s family mediation department, has been a specialist in family law since the early 1980s. She became the first female partner at the company since the merger of Adie Pickwell and Ringrose & Co in 1989.

John Knight, partner and head of Ringrose’s personal injury & medical negligence team, will take over as senior partner on 1 May.

He said: “I would like to add my personal thanks, and those of the rest of the partners, to both Paul and Christine for the tremendous amount of service they have given to Ringrose Law over the years. Their contribution to the success of the firm has been invaluable.

“When I became a partner 14 years ago, both Paul and Christine were already senior figures in the partnership and I soon learned from them that it takes a lot to run a firm of solicitors the size of Ringrose Law, and in order to survive and thrive you have to constantly adapt and change.

“With both Paul and Christine leaving the partnership at the end of April, that change will be continuing.”

The firm, which boasts six offices and over 150 staff, has also welcomed solicitors Richard Teare, Costa Kyriacou, Kelly Langworthy, Amanda Green and Emma McGrath to the partnership with immediate effect.
