On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

(L-R): Actons' qualified STEP members Cara Watson, Mandy Kelly, Heather Parker and Bindiya Patel

Nottingham-based independent law firm Actons has strengthened its private client team with a new hire.

Heather Parker joins the company as an associate. She qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and previously worked at Rothera Sharp.

Parker is a chair of the Nottinghamshire Law Society’s Private Client Committee and a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly and STEP.

Her arrival at the firm is part of its succession planning ahead of team head Mandy Kelly’s retirement in April.

She said: “I’m delighted to have joined Actons. Through Nottinghamshire Law Society, I’ve known the team at Actons for a while. They are a lovely bunch of people and I’m excited to be working with them to develop the private client team further.”

Meanwhile, fellow associate Bindiya Patel has also successfully completed the STEP diploma – the kite mark qualification for private client lawyers.

Elsewhere in Nottingham, specialist baker Butt Foods has announced two new appointments.

Helen Procter and Chris Collings have joined the company as technical manager and new product development manager respectively.
