Job-creating nursery group opens first premises

A Leicestershire-based nursery and pre-school group has opened its first premises, creating 12 full and part-time local jobs in the process.
Beverley Hutt secured a £170,000 commercial mortgage from HSBC UK to open its new nursery at Earl Shilton.
The company renovated a 925 sq ft bungalow to create Woodlands Nursery and Pre-school, which sits next door to the Kingsfield Court residential home. Together with rented space at a local school in Barwell, the nursery will increase the firm’s capacity from 40 to 80 children and allow it to operate for an extra 1,200 hours each year.
Owner Beverley Hutt said: “HSBC UK has supported my business since 2006 and the bank’s continued support means we’re able to continue our work with communities nearby. We’re really excited about working closely with Kingsfield Court to provide both age groups the opportunity to improve their social and mental well-being. I would like to thank our relationship manager at the bank, Steve Eames, who has been instrumental throughout this process.”
David Tomlinson, area director East Midlands Business Banking, HSBC UK, added: “The finance package will enable the nursery and pre-school group to expand across Leicestershire. The new nursery in Earl Shilton is a great opportunity to showcase the great intergenerational work and admirable community spirit of the group. It’s an incredibly exciting time and we look forward to working closely in the future.”
