The Big Gig free community music festival is now in its fourth year and will showcase local bands and artists from a range of musical genres this Sunday. Suitable for all the family and with a range of stalls, workshops and other attractions in Lincoln’s arboretum park, the day is set to be perfect for a hot summer weekend.
Deliveroo Beach
Date: Friday 22nd July– Sunday 4th September
Location: Old Market Square, Nottingham
This weekend Deliveroo are bringing summer to Nottingham with their largest beach yet. With funfair rides, traditional seaside arcade games, a pool, live music, entertainment and most importantly – a beach bar, it’s not to be missed.
Simon Says Festival

Location: De Montford Hall and Gardens, Leicester
After great success last year, Simon Says festival returns to Leicester. The weekend event will be showcasing the finest talent from Leicester’s music scene and beyond, along with real ales, cocktails, food and drink, art, children’s activities and much more.
Great British Food Festival
Date: Saturday 23rd – Sunday 24th July
Location: Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton
This year’s Great British Food Festival is a must for all East Midlands-based foodies with over 80 top local and artisan producers, large servings of hot food, real ale and wine bars, cookery lessons, live music and top chef demos from the likes of Great British Bake Off finalists Luis Troyano and Miranda Gore Browne.
Art and design Masters show
Date: Wednesday 20th – Wednesday 27th July
Location: Bonington Building, Shakespeare Street, Nottingham
Nottingham Trent University will become a focal point for international art and design talent this week when the institution opens its doors for this year’s postgraduate exhibition, Mastered.
The event gives members of the public the chance to see the work of students from over 20 different countries as well as understand the research behind it during talks with the artists themselves.
