Cosmetics giant makes Nottingham high street move

A make-up company owned by multinational L’Oreal is set to make the jump to the high street after revealing plans to open in Nottingham city centre.

Urban Decay will set up shop at 24 Bridlesmith Gate in the city, which was formerly home to Coast. The firm describes itself as selling “beauty with an edge”.

The firm was set up in the mid 90s by Wende Zomnir and Sandy Lerner – the co-founder of Cisco Systems. Zomnir still has a stake in the company and “road tests” every product it makes.

Today, Urban Decay has one of the biggest shade ranges in the industry.

The company had run our of a concession in Nottingham’s city centre Debenhams store, but it set to strike out on its own on Bridlesmith Gate which is home to luxury brands such as Fred Perry, Boss and Cath Kidston.
