A leisure centre operator has signed a 25-year deal to run two Leicestershire facilities.

Everyone Active has taken over management of Hood Park and Hermitage Leisure Centres.

In a new partnership between North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) and the Hinckley-based leisure operator, the district’s two main leisure centres will be managed by Everyone Active for the next 25 years.

The new £23n Coalville Leisure Centre will replace Hermitage Leisure Centre.

The new site will be around one mile away from the existing centre and boast a large gym and studios, an 8-lane 25 metre swimming pool, an 8-court sports hall and a health suite with a steam room, sauna and spa pool.

Building work on the new centre is due to begin in late 2019 and open autumn 2021.

Planning permission will be needed for the new Coalville Leisure Centre, which is due to be built on council-owned land off the A511 Stephenson Way, opening in 2021.
