EasyJet to open “several” coffee shops in Nottingham

A budget coffee chain backed by easyJet owner Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has confirmed it is set to open “several” coffee shops in Nottingham, according to reports.

EasyCoffee will sell coffee for £1 a cup in a move that will spark a price war in the city centre.

EasyCoffee said back in November that it was looking at Nottingham, but has now confirmed plans to open a chain of outlets in the city. Reports say that over 300 people are interested in opening a franchise.

EasyCoffee already has shops in Southend-on-Sea, Covent Garden and Leicester Square. It wants to open a further 200 outlets this year.

Franchise manager Scott Randels said: “We are actively looking for sites in the city centre although nothing has been secured yet.

“We have had a lot of interest and hope to open several branches in Nottingham.

“Currently there are no specific locations or dates set but we hope to announce our roll out plan in the next few months.”
