Leicester renewable energy provider set to enter market

A Leicester-based energy provider will launch onto the domestic market today with a 100% renewable offer.

Fischer Energy says it wants to sign up 40,000 households in the next 12 months to its single variable tariff using renewable power bought from Dong Energy.

Fischer’s chief executive, Keith Bastian, is reported as saying: “[Our customers] can buy the energy knowing it’ll be a fair price. It won’t be the cheapest, we can’t guarantee that, but it will be fair.”

Fischer is a family business which employs 25 people. It is based on Granville Road in Leicester and was incorporated in July last year.

The company will launch its tariffs today.
