Two new tenants enter The Pod

Jamie Woodford and Ali West of Kinetik with MD of Bildurn Sean Akins

A gym and an expanding hosted IT and communications business are the newest tenants to move into Bildurn’s Pod building in Nottingham city centre.

Kinetik Fitness has taken the 9,000 sq ft lower ground unit on Bottle Lane, next to Waterstones, while technology business Node4 has set up its new Nottingham home in the vacant ground floor unit of The Pod. Both lettings were managed by Laura Jardine of Innes England.

The Pod was designed by London practice Benson+Forsyth in 2006 and brought 108,000 sq ft of space to Nottingham’s office, leisure and retail sectors.

Manager at Kinetik Fitness Ali West, said: “We are so excited to be bringing our health and fitness concept to life in a new building under a brand-new identity.

“I have been a personal trainer for more than a decade and Jamie has worked in the sports sector for his whole career, so we feel we have the magic formula for a new type of gym that can deliver health and fitness results to everyone.

“It is all about offering a personal service that’s accessible and friendly and encourages people to come back day in, day out. The Pod is in the ideal location in the middle of the city, at the heart of the Creative Quarter, and is such an inspirational and fun space for us to set up our first gym.”

Kinetik Fitness has taken out a 10-year lease on the unit. Other current tenants of The Pod include Tesco, Nisbets Catering Equipment and Ibis hotel.

Managing director at Bildurn Sean Akins, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome two such different and exciting businesses to The Pod. The building is located in a prime spot in the city centre, a stone’s throw from the desirable Bridlesmith Gate shopping area and in the heart of the creative and vibrant intersection between Hockley and the Lace Market.

“Our main philosophy at Bildurn is to breathe new commercial life into well-known buildings and to create new spaces which grab the eye of passers-by and make them stop to take a second look, or venture inside. Kinetik and Node4 are perfectly placed to grow their businesses from The Pod and we look forward to hearing their success stories over the coming months and years.”

Laura Jardine, surveyor at Innes England, said:  “Kinetik Fitness is an exciting new addition to the city and we were delighted to work with Bildurn to secure this off the market deal at The Pod. The new gym offers a completely new approach to fitness and with only 1000 spaces for members, it is an exclusive gem in the city centre.”
