High end wine shop to open in West Bridgford

High-end wine shop Laithwaite’s is set to open a new store on Radcliffe Road in West Bridgford, Nottingham in April.

It will be the company’s first new store opening since its Gloucester store opened its doors to the public in 2013 and will be Laithwaite’s most northern store.

West Bridgford was identified both by Laithwaite’s and by Wine Intelligence as “an ideal location” to open a new wine shop. Wine Intelligence research highlighted the affluent customer base and minimal competition as being desirable factors for wine retailers.

Laithwaites has hosted events in Nottingham for many years and have a loyal customer base in the area.

Helen McEvoy, retail director, said: “Our search for a new Laithwaite’s store was centred on areas where we already have a strong customer base. Our stores are able to offer a range of services that our customers are asking for, from free tastings of our wine range to fulfilling click and collect orders. We are really pleased with the site in West Bridgford and hope that this is the first of many new stores for Laithwaite’s Wine.”

The store will stock over 300 wines, beers and spirits including some off the beaten track lines such as Japanese Whisky. All wines will be available to open and taste in store, giving customers the change to try before you buy on anything in the range.

The new store will bring the total number of Laithwaite’s shops up to 13. In addition to this, Laithwaite’s operate 34 concession sites across the country. Retail is a growth area for the company with new concessions and shops being planned for the future.
