Hargreaves hints at residential plan for West Bridgford site
An East Midlands property agent has hinted that the Sandicliffe Motors site in West Bridgford could be developed into residential use.
The site, on Loughborough Road, was originally let to Sandicliffe Motors ten years ago. Sandicliffe will relocate at the end of 2017 to two new sites close to the Showcase Cinema site off Clifton Boulevard at Lenton.
David Hargreaves from FHP has been appointed by the owners of the site on Loughborough Road to advise on its future development.
Hargreaves said: “This is a superb site in the much sought after West Bridgford conurbation with a significant presence to both Bridgford Road and Loughborough Road. The site, which totals approximately 0.55 acres, is directly opposite the world famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.
“There is significant potential on this site for a variety of uses ranging from a food store through to roadside retail, leisure and, of course, residential. Apartments in West Bridgford are now achieving prices of £300-plus per sq ft and we expect to see this increase towards £400 persq ft over the next 18 months with the development of the former Rushcliffe Borough Council Civic Centre and river fronted sites on Meadow Lane and at Colwick.”
Hargreaves said FHP is working with Maber Architects and Grace Machin Planning Consultants to determine the strategy and the way forward for this site which will be available from the end of the year.
