On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

A Leicester-based planning firm has grown its ranks with the appointment of a new senior planner. Marrons Planning has brought in Lizzie Beresford to help meet growing demand for strategic planning advice in the region.

Beresford was a member of both the development strategy and development management team at Rugby Borough Council for seven years before joining Marrons Planning.

She said: “It’s an exciting time for the region, which is seeing a significant amount of investment and a flourishing development scene. Nevertheless, there are challenges ahead for the sector around the delivery of housing and the potential impact of Brexit.

“Joining Marrons marks the start of an exciting period for me and I look forward to delivering sustainable development and providing the best results for all of our clients.”

Sarah Smithurst

Tecserv UK’s latest recruit is bringing her extensive BBC news reading, Police and charity fund raising experience, which includes an MBE and having dinner with Barack Obama, to her new role as client relations manager.

Sarah Smithurst MBE, is joining the Underwood based fire and security alarm systems specialist in order to strengthen relationships with existing customers and strategic referral partners. The aim is to understand where Tecserv can further improve its services as well as ensure the company becomes the specified contractor whenever a commercial project needs fire, intruder alarm, CCTV or access control solutions.

Tecserv UK sales and marketing director, Colin Milligan said: “With a background of having delivering the news “Most Wanted” on BBC & ITV TV, working for Nottinghamshire Police, and a previous Sales/BD role for The Games Workshop, Sarah is highly skilled in negotiation and will combine this with her experience of working with diverse communities to better understand client needs and how Tecserv should adapt to meet them.”
