A38 in Derby closed after collision

The A38 in Derby is closed in both directions between the A5111 and A52 near Kingsway due to a collision involving a HGV and a car.

It is closed northbound between A5111 and the A52 and southbound between A6 and A52.

Derbyshire police are on scene.

Highways England are advising the following diversions:

Northbound diversion follow the hollow square:
Exit the A38 at Kingsway roundabout and take the A5111 towards Alverston.
Then take the A52 until the Pentagon roundabout,
At this junction take the A61 to join the A38 at Little Eaton

Southbound diversion please follow the solid diamond:
Exit the A38 at Little Eaton on to the A61
At Pentagon roundabout take the A52.
Continue on the A52 until the A5111
Turn left on to the A6 (Alvaston bypass) and continue to the junction with the A50.
Then turn right to rejoin the A38.

Highways England is urging motorists to allow extra time for their journey.
