Nottingham company to invest £1m in Just for Pets

Nottingham-based Pedigree Wholesale is to invest £1m into pet retailer Just for Pets.

The cash will be spent on new branding and staff training, the firm said.

The first glimpse of the investment that’s been made will be seen at the grand opening of a flagship Coventry store, which signals the start of a two-year investment strategy nationwide for the company and comes eight months on from when the pet business was threatened with closure.

Some 200 jobs were saved when Pedigree Wholesale bought stricken Worcestershire-based pet retailer Just for Pets out of administration last October.

Steve Brown, managing director, said: “Our main focus has been on creating a future for the Just for Pets brand, and at a time when many other well-loved retailers are closing, we’ve invested in our high street offer to create an exciting, engaging, and evolving experience that gives our customers great products, service and advice that will enhance the wellbeing of pets and their owners.”

“We’ve tackled the rebrand passionately and feel our new offer delicately meets familiarity with a new energy that turns the page on the next chapter in the Just for Pets story.”
