Logistics firm expands with 30,000 sq ft unit

Mutlinational logistics firm Allegro Transport has expanded after leasing a 30,000 sq ft building on Birchwood Way, in Somercotes, Derbyshire.

It is the firm’s second premises on Birchwood Way and will allow the company to expand its range of services.

Ross Eggleton, director of Allegro, said: “We are pleased to have completed on the new site and to have secured a long-term lease, which not only supports our growth plans for the business but extends our operation on Birchwood Way, adding to the current site.

“The new site enables us to offer existing transport customers additional warehouse services and flexible storage with the 30,000 sq ft of space. We are also able to introduce new customers to the business through pallet storage.”

FHP brokered the deal on behalf of landlord PMW Property.

Matt Wrigley of PMW Property said: “PMW Property and Allegro Transport have formed a close relationship throughout the negotiations along with Chris Proctor from FHP and look forward to working together to our mutual benefit.”

Proctor said: “To reach full occupancy at Junction 28 of the M1 for PMW Property has been a real team effort and is a credit to the expertise of both company’s knowledge and understanding of the local market.

“It has been a pleasure to agree a deal with Allegro Transport to take a second premises on Birchwood way, and they are a real exciting prospect with further growth and expansion plans for the future.”
