Profits at Ashby event management firm Ashfield Meetings & Events rose by £1.34m in 2018 – despite turnover dropping slightly.

The company posted profits of just over £3m, while revenues came in at £28.2m.

The firm said it increased headcount over the year “to support increased interest from healthcare clients using Ashfield’s full service live event experience capabilities”.

“Overall we are extremely pleased with our end of year results as they accurately reflect our business strategy,” said global managing director, Nicola Burns.

She added: “Clients are increasingly recognising the strength of our creative services, production and exhibit offerings, as well as our outstanding logistics support which is more well-known in the industry.

“Further investment in our in-house expertise was vital, particularly as we have won and been shortlisted for several industry awards this year as a result of our full service capabilities.

“We’re keen to build on this success and momentum to broaden our new and existing client partnerships in the future.”
