New Midlands editor to drive forward TheBusinessDesk.com’s growth

TheBusinessDesk.com has bolstered its Midlands presence with a new hire and new Midlands-wide editor.

Three and a half years after launching TheBusinessDesk.com in the East Midlands, Sam Metcalf is appointed Midlands editor, with a brief to oversee the editorial and events across the East and West of the region.

Sam is joined by Ian Evans, a well-respected business journalist who will be covering the East Midlands business news as it breaks.

The move comes as the East and West Midlands regions continue to see increased readership. Page views across the Midlands regions have increased by 33% in the last year, accelerating the long-term audience growth.

Sam Metcalf said: “It’s great to have Ian on board as we begin to step up our news and events across the East Midlands. Ian is well-known in the region and I’m looking forward to working alongside him to expand TheBusinessDesk.com in across both the East and West Midlands.

“Over the past year we have introduced the Leadership Awards in both the East and West Midlands and the Business Masters in the East. The events, along with our regular lunch events are engaging the business community across the entire region and we look forward to further increasing this over the coming months.
