Manufacturer moves on from tragedy with new premises

Get Laid Beds' new premises in Glen Parva

An expanding bed manufacturer and online retailer is set to move into new-build factory premises in Leicestershire – its first real home since a fire destroyed its and three other companies’ premises in Blaby.

Get Laid Beds has taken up three new units at Wharf Way in the village of Glen Parva in a deal negotiated by East Midlands-based property firm Andrew + Ashwell.

The company, which currently employs 50 people, will move into its new premises next month as it looks to move on from the catastrophic events of March this year, when a large blaze devastated its original Winchester Avenue home.

Jean Lombard, director and co-founder of Get Laid Beds, said: “Andrew + Ashwell not only found us our previous premises, but have also been very supportive since the fire, both in finding temporary accommodation for us to continue doing business and also recommending the new-build premises we are hugely looking forward to moving into.

“We wanted to create somewhere that would provide a high quality working environment with a good atmosphere for our growing team of staff and the new buildings fully match our criteria.

“In the past we have always had to make space work for us, but now we are in a position to expand with plenty of room to grow.”

The firm will now enjoy 30,000 sq ft of space across three buildings, which will include a full manufacturing facility and ground floor showrooms.
