Legal eagles add ten

Roythornes' new starters

An East Midlands-based law firm has celebrated its 85th year in business by taking on ten new trainees, bringing its total number of new starters this year up to 41.

Roythornes Solicitors has also made 14 internal promotions across its offices in Nottingham, Peterborough, Spalding and Alconbury during the same period.

The ten new recruits represent the largest cohort ever welcomed by top 200 firm, which now boasts over 220 members of staff.

Gillian Nash-Kennell, HR director at Roythornes, said: “We pride ourselves in being ahead of the curve in supporting the next generation of legal professionals, so we’re delighted to welcome our biggest intake of trainees to date. As they take the next step in pursuit of a legal career we are committed to their development, both academically and practically, and look forward to watching them flourish within the business.

“This is a time of real growth for us and we are currently looking for strategic recruits across all our offices as we strive to be the number one choice for paralegals to partners, across the Midlands and East Anglia. We’re therefore thrilled to have scored so highly on this year’s Legal 500 as the directory is a great indicator of a law firm’s capability.

“We are also delighted to be LEX100 winners in two categories this year, voted by our trainee solicitors, in both ‘work life balance’ and ‘confidence in being kept on’.”

Roythornes’ agriculture and corporate and commercial teams secured Tier 1 rankings in this year’s Legal 500.
