Former hotel owner launches vegan food brand

The former owner of one of Leicester’s foremost boutique hotels has established a new environmentally-friendly food brand.

Aatin Anadkat decided to launch Positive Kitchen + Co with his wife Helen after closing his most recent venture, an allergen-free fish and chip shop, due to his concerns over the sustainability of the produce being served.

Aatin previously ran Hotel Maiyango in Leicester city centre.

Both Aatin and Helen have extensive experience in the hospitality sector, with Helen also having founded the vegan restaurant Plant and the Bean.

The pair decided to establish Positive Kitchen + Co, which serves 100 per cent vegan, plant-based, dairy-free baked goods, after their youngest son was diagnosed with a dairy intolerance.

Aatin said: “We are a forward thinking and considerate brand which is positively plant based and look forward to working with like-minded stockists and partners as the business grows.
