Weekender: Derbyshire gastropub launches lip-smacking new menu

Award-winning Derbyshire gastropub The Bridge Inn has launched a new menu which is sure to tickle the tastebuds of local gastronauts and casual diners alike.

Rosette-adorned executive chef Darren Goodwin has created a menu based on hand selected produce which he believes will appeal to everyone from walkers to destination diners.

The new menu offers guests a range of traditional pub grub such as Shepherd’s Pie, slow-braised lamb shoulder and burgers alongside a selection of tapas and small plates including Moules Frites, Croque Madame and Mushroom Rarebit.

The Bridge Inn, which is located at Calver in the Hope Valley, is owned by David McHattie.

He said: “We’re both delighted and excited to be starting this new phase of our restaurant.

“This new menu signifies a new era and period of further innovation for the Bridge as we continue to provide the very best food, service and experience for our guests. Darren is a highly adorned and very talented chef, skilled at translating our vision for food into a reality for our customers to enjoy, time and time again.

“While we offer a range of traditional pub delights and exciting, world-class tapas dishes, we’re also focused pushing the social angle and that’s really what our new menu is focused on; social eating and drinking.”

The former coaching inn was extensively renovated in 2016.
