Comms firm reveals US expansion plans

A Leicestershire communications firm is set to expand into the US after bagging a five-figure funding boost.

Write the Talk, which has received £75,000 from Enterprise Loans via the Midlands Investment Fund (MEIF), says it now wants to gain a foothold in the US market, invest in marketing materials and take on new staff at its Midlands headquarters.

The fast-growing firm, established by Anthony and Sue Madigan in 2006, currently operates in the UK and Hong Kong.

Managing director Anthony Madigan said: “Write the Talk began its story in 2006, growing through word of mouth and networking. In 2017 we took advantage of the potential in the Asia Pacific market and today we see that same potential in the US market. Expanding internationally is a challenging endeavour and it takes time to establish and start to grow. This investment will enable us to employ more people here in the UK to meet demand.

“In the current economic climate, it’s hard to find willing investors for small business. We tried the traditional routes and were delighted when our bank introduced us to Enterprise Loans. We found them to be open to our growth plans and very supportive.”

Matthew Wright, business advisor at Enterprise Loans, added: “I’m delighted that we were able to provide valuable funding for Write the Talk. It’s a well-established business that has been built on networking and referrals so I can’t wait to see how the funding injection and subsequent marketing boosts the company’s success.

“Anthony and Sue are incredibly passionate about what they do and, with a great pipeline of work and a high number of new clients, they are really in a great position to drive the business forward. I wish them every success for the future.”

Write the Talk told TheBusinessDesk.com it intends to grow its team “one specialist at a time” this year.
