Over 160 new homes are set to be built in Nottingham following the sale of around 19 acres of development land.

The sale of the site in Mapperley will see 164 units ranging from one bedroom to five bedroom homes.

Savills, which acted on behalf of private landowners, secured the sale to Davidsons Homes. Andrew Galloway, director of development at Savills in the Midlands, had been involved with the site promotion for many years with fellow director Ann Taylor leading the marketing.

The landowners and Davidsons were represented by Rob Wofinden from Browne Jacobson and James Hart from Freeths, respectively.

Taylor said: “This sale will be a welcome boost to the housing market in Nottingham and is a project that we are incredibly proud to have been involved in. It creates a significant pipeline of quality homes that will benefit the local community for generations to come and we are confident that Davidsons will continue to build upon their status as a key developer of exemplar housing across the Midlands, creating a flagship residential scheme that completely transforms the existing space.”

Richard Stevenson land director at Davidsons Homes, said: “We are delighted to secure the purchase of this land. As long-term investors throughout the Midlands region, we have worked very closely with all stakeholders and look forward to providing local people and new residents with a choice of much needed new, high quality homes at the site in Mapperley while creating a whole new community in this part of Nottinghamshire.

“We aim to be on site by November with the first phase of development available by Summer 2021.”
