£500,000 investment sees beauty entrepreneurs open sixth venue

Inside the new Beauty Temple Retreat

A Georgian building in Castle Donington has been given a new lease of life after a £500,000 investment which has seen it turned into a new beauty and wellness retreat, creating several new jobs.

Owners Lucy and Martin Goodwin opened their flagship salon in Nottingham city centre in 2006. The pair say the Beauty Temple Retreat, their sixth venue, will bring something different to the area with a luxury day retreat.

Located on Market Street, the building is steeped in history and was a former drapery and dressmaker in the 1800s. The Beauty Temple Retreat is split over four levels and offers the latest body and beauty treatments – but wellness too with yoga classes and holistic treatments.

The new premises will also be home to a new training academy offering beauty courses which will be open to everyone, with no requirements for prior experience.

Upon successful completion students will receive their ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists) Accredited Certificate.

Lucy Goodwin said: “We are so excited to finally be opening The Beauty Temple Retreat – it has been such a year for us in the beauty industry and after all the setbacks and closures we are all looking forward to opening the doors to something new.”

“This expansion is different from our other salons and I’m confident that guests will leave feeling relaxed and pampered, whether that is from treating themselves to a day at the retreat, taking part in a yoga class or just from popping into our cafe to enjoy a spare half hour.”
