Global news agency to close Nottingham office

Reuters' Nottingham office

New agency Thomson Reuteurs is to close its Nottingham office, five years after it expanded it to include a sub-editing operation.

The firm says its 50 staff will now work remotely full-time and it will vacate its space in the Chapel Bar area of the city centre.

The agency had expanded the office in 2016, saying the move would “give staff the chance to work outside expensive locations such as London, Singapore and New York.”

Thomson Reuters said the closure of its Nottingham office would put it “in the best position to support our customers and employees, and to grow as a business.”
