Huthwaite-based Clayton Glass has signed a five-year transport deal with Derbyshire-based transport and logistics firm The Silver X Group.

The Silver X Group was established back in 2013, and now operates from a 130,000 sq ft facility in Alfreton.

Silver X managing director Gavin Burgess said: “Silver X have been tasked with providing a logistics solution that will provide exceptional customer service to Clayton’s customers.

“At the same time, we’ll be looking to supply Clayton with an enhanced supplier-client relationship that reports accurate daily information, up-to-date tracking, and allows the whole process to be managed by both the supplier and the customer.”

“I’m personally really excited, I’ve been really engaged with the Clayton team so it’s an exciting pairing.”

Clayton Glass Group procurement and IT manager, Tom Moore, said: “The first thing that attracted us to working with Silver X was their approach to logistics.

“We have very similar ideas when it comes priorities, with customer support, maintaining core values and a constant betterment of service all being things that we both strive for.

“On top of this, we are excited to see their modern, data-driven approach vs traditional hauliers. With real time-tracking data, and our self-service app glassTRACK, giving live and free access to order dates and PODs, it’s a formidable customer offering.”

Jonathan Bryan, plant manager of Clayton Glass group transport manager said
“From a logistical standpoint, Silver X appear to be elite in their field. I very much look forward to our future relationship.”

Clayton Glass managing director, Ryan Green, said: “This partnership represents another leap forward in our ability to offer what we believe is the best service in our industry. I am excited and enthused to work with Gavin and the team at Silver X and, like him, can see this being a hugely fruitful endeavour for both parties.”
