New project wins lead to recruitment drive for architect

Franklin Ellis has worked on Bildurn's 11 Station Street scheme

An upturn in work on a hotels across the UK has led architect Franklin Ellis to embark on a recruitment drive.

The firm is looking to recruit a senior interior designer, design architect and senior technologist after schemes that were mothballed last year have been reactived.

Franklin Ellis has recently completed a dual brand for Cycas Hospitality and Marriott, a Moxy short stay and a Residence Inn long stay hotel in Slough, a Hotel Indigo in Chester and a Holiday Inn Express in Barrow. This hotel work along with further leisure architecture work for the Everards Brewery at Everards Meadows has led to an influx of commissions including two additional Hotel Indigos and many other international-branded hotel deliveries for both architecture and interior design generating a need for the company to expand.

Closer to home Franklin Ellis has completed a student accommodation scheme on Talbot Street in Nottingham for developer Redoak and end-user, Unipol which has led to two further large volume student scheme commissions in the city. The firm also has a PRS scheme for Grainger and Blocwork starting on site and the Station Street offices for Bildurn progressing too.

Matthew Branton, managing partner, said: ““We are delighted that a number of our key hospitality, student and PRS projects that paused last year are now progressing in 2021. This gives us an opportunity to build on the successful completions of a number of landmark projects in 2020.

“We are therefore looking for architects and interior designers to join the team and deliver these exciting projects.”
