Agency round-up: Poppy PR; Tank

Pete Allen and Tina Clough

Poppy PR has launched a new client video service in partnership with Nottingham’s former Capital FM DJ Pete Allen.

Allen, who became a household name as half of radio duo Dino and Pete, has latterly launched his own business producing podcasts.

Now he will be working alongside Poppy PR to provide professional videos and short social media clips for the Castle Donington based agency’s clients.

Tina Clough, managing director of Poppy PR, said: “Video has become so important, particularly for social media and website purposes, and I know that the bulk of our clients are really open to the idea of using video clips alongside more traditional PR.

“I’m thrilled to bits that Pete has agreed to come on board, bringing his wealth of creative skills and broadcasting experience. This new venture will perfectly complement the agency’s other services and keep us ahead of the competition.”

Allen said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with Poppy PR and to be in a position now to help Tina give her clients an even more complete PR and communications service.”

Phil Kelsey

Nottingham PR agency Tank has appointed Phil Kelsey as commercial director.

Kelsey, who previously managed and exited his own web agency, will be overseeing the commercial development of Tank and its creative sister company Warbox.

He joins the Nottingham agency following a period of senior management positions in the motor industry.

Kelsey said: “I’ve admired the culture and the growing talent within Tank for the best part of seven years now, having had clients in common and hearing nothing but praise from within my network.

“When the opportunity was presented to join the board and help strengthen the direction of Tank and Warbox through new markets, I was truly honoured. There’s no limit to what we can achieve – the teams’ abilities are unrivalled and the leadership qualities make for a very exciting future – one that I believe in and am proud to represent.”

Trevor Palmer, director and founder of Tank and Warbox, said: “This is something of a coup for our two agencies, as Phil is a well-respected and sought-after talent in our space. After the initial lull that most experienced, we’ve actually achieved strong growth in the past 12 months, and we feel that now is the right time to execute the next phase of our investment plans.”
