Student scheme at main Nottingham city centre gateway gets go-ahead

How the scheme will look

Plans to build a 210-bed student accommodation scheme in Nottingham city centre have been given the go-ahead.

Crosslane and Prime Student Living launched a public consultation to build the scheme at 5-17 Huntingdon Street in April. The site is currently occupied by a number of different low-grade commercial buildings which are predominately vacant or on short licences.

The site, on the corner of Huntingdon Street and Alfred Street North is one of the main gateway roads into Nottingham city centre.

The scheme, designed by Day Architectural, will stretch over six storeys and include a gym, private dining facilties, a cinema, games area and study space. A private courtyard will also be built.

Crosslane hopes to see the development occupied by the start of the academic year in 2023.
