Sustainable housing scheme gets underway near Market Harborough

Work has begun on a 17-home residential scheme in rural Leicestershire following the sale of a 1.81-hectare site to a local developer.
Newton LDP has completed the sale of the land in the village of Church Langton on behalf of a client, paving the way for Rutland-based Langton Homes to begin groundworks on the site.
The scheme, which will be called Hanbury Gardens, is expected to be completed in Summer 2023.
Planning permission for the homes was granted in May 2019, with reserved matters approval coming two years later.
Richard Foxon, managing director of Newton LDP, said: “This is a site I know well and have been involved in for some time, initially advising the landowners when they entered into an option agreement with Langton Homes in 2018.
“We are pleased to have negotiated the sale of the land with planning permission for an attractive and sustainable development, which will provide much-needed new homes in this popular part of Leicestershire.”
Mark Coombs, representing the landowners, said: “We engaged with Richard from the outset as we were aware of his strong track record and professional reputation within the development land sector.
“It was thanks to his knowledge, experience and tactical negotiation that ensured we maximised our returns from this scheme.
“I would like to thank Richard and Newton LDP for their attention to detail and due diligence throughout this process, and look forward to seeing this high-quality development being developed out by Langton Homes.”
