Architectural design firm The Practical Planning Company has relocated its studio to Castle Donington – just in time to mark its third year in business.

The move comes after a bumper year of awards success and growth and is part of a longer-term strategy to expand the company’s services and reach further across the Midlands.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Benjamin and Jodie Heginbotham in October 2019, The Practical Planning Company was previously based in Sandiacre, Derbyshire.

Benjamin Heginbotham said: “The relocation of our studio to Castle Donington has come at a time of great excitement for us and we’re thrilled to finally be sharing this news.

“Since launching three years ago, we’ve had a pandemic to contend with as well as rising construction material costs, new regulations in the industry and limited supply versus demand. It’s been tough – especially as a fledgling small business – and we’re proud that we’ve been able to navigate the difficulties we’ve faced and continue to grow.”

With its new base in Castle Donington, the team are planning to extend their services further across Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

“We’re excited to be working in new areas as we enter our third year in business,” added Benjamin. “To mark our big move – and our anniversary – we’ve decided to freshen things up a bit with a new website and new logo as a reflection of how we’ve grown since our inception.

“Now, with our brand new home and fresh new look kickstarting our growth plans for the future, we’re eager to see where the next year takes us.”
