Industrial site comes to market in Derbyshire

A 1.85-acre parcel of industrial land on a commercial site in Derbyshire has come to market through Harris Lamb.

The agents say the undeveloped land in Alfreton has potential for a variety of uses to include open storage or the development of a building subject to planning and surveys, and the business is inviting both conditional and unconditional offers.

The freehold site is located in a prime industrial area, situated to the rear of an automotive parts supplier on the Somercotes Industrial Estate.

Andrew Groves, of Harris Lamb’s commercial agency team, who is marketing the site, said: “The industrial sector has been extremely buoyant in recent years due to the huge demand for high-quality warehousing throughout the country and the lack of supply to meet it. While an increasing number of speculative schemes have undertaken by developers in that time, there remains a shortage of industrial buildings and land.

“With that in mind, we are confident that there will be significant interest from purchasers in this site due to the potential it provides.

“The previously undeveloped land parcel is located to the rear of the MJ Allen Automotive premises on Wimsey Way, part of the Somercotes Industrial Estate. The estate, along with the adjoining Alfreton Industrial Estate, hosts a range of local and national occupiers including Eurocell Building Plastics, Thorntons, Yodel and UPS,” he added.

“The site is located less than a mile away from the A38 providing convenient access on to the M1 motorway at Junction 28. The site was previously granted planning consent in 2015 for a 40,000 sq ft extension to the MJ Allen premises.

Access to the land will be via a shared access point to the rear of MJ Allen.
