Plans revealed for new Nottingham hotel

The former Acacia Care Home

Plans have been revealed to turn a former care centre just outside Nottingham city centre into a 48-room hotel.

Gurnam Singh wants to transform what was the Acacia Care Home at 12 Sherwood Rise into a new hospitality venue. The care home closed last August.

Floor plans show outline detail for a two storey hotel that would be redeveloped. Resident rooms would be turned into hotel rooms.

The scheme is being designed by Qube Architects.

Acacia Care Home hit the news in the summer of 2021 when drunk care home assistant, Paula Bailey was jailed for 26 months after attacking a dementia-suffering elderly patient – an act fuelled by drinking two bottles of red wine.
