Electrical contractor loses spark as administrators called in

An electrical contracting firm based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, has called in administrators.

Active Electrical Services, which was established in 2014, has appointed Charles Ranby-Gorwood and Arabella Ranby-Gorward of CRG Insolvency & Financial Recovery as joint administrators to look after the day-to-day running of the company.

The Lincolnshire firm carries out work for both domestic and commercial clients. It is also an approved contractor for electrical safety checks and testing for landlords.

Active Electrical Services had signalled its troubles over recent times by posting two notices of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators – firstly on 3 July and then again on 14 of the same month.

The firm’s latest available accounts, made up to the end of June 2022, show the company employed an average of 11 people across the year. The company has two outstanding charges against it, from Aldermore Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
