A46 closed southbound after ‘serious’ collision

The A46 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between the B6166 (near Newark on Trent) and A6097 (near Bingham) due to a serious multi-vehicle collision.

Traffic at the scene is being diverted via local routes.

Nottinghamshire Police are at scene and leading the response to this incident, there are currently long delays of 30 minutes on approach to the closure.

A statement from National Highways said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
