Magpies post £2.75m loss in promotion season

Meadow Lane, home of Notts County

Notts County made a loss of £2.75m over the 2022/23 season, when the club was promoted back into the Football League, newly-filed accounts reveal.

The Magpies remain heavily-reliant on loans from their owners, the Reedtz brothers, to keep them afloat, according to the pared-back figures. They loaned the club £2m over the year, bringing the total owed to almost £14m.

County currently sit sixth in League Two after a thrilling 5-5 draw with Grimsby Town last weekend. They take on top-of-the-table Stockport County at Meadow Lane on Saturday hoping to cement their place in the play-off race for League One.

These new losses come on the back of a £1.7m loss for the 2021/22 season.
