Former hospital site set for 200-bed student complex
Plans have been revealed to turn the old Waterloo House and Regent House in Leicester into a student accommodation block.
Currently used as offices, the buildings will be transformed to a 200-bed student accommodation.
Regent House, a historical building dating back to the 19th century, was once home to the Fielding Johnson Hospital.
Plans include a mix of studio, two-bed, and “cluster” apartments to cater to different student needs.
If approved, 160 bed spaces will be available in Regent House and Waterloo House, with an additional 35 bed spaces in a new building on the nearby car park site.
Previous proposals were rejected due to concerns about the impact on the local area, now the newly devised project waits approval from the council.
