Student accommodation plans for historic Lace Market site
Plans have been revealed to turn a prime address in Nottingham’s Lace Market area into a 20-bed student accommodation scheme.
Office and storage space at 14-18 St Mary’s Gate in Nottingham could be transformed under the proposals, put forward by Two Property Consultants on behalf of a private landlord.
The proposals outline plans to to convert the existing retail/commercial units on the ground, first and second floors into student accommodation, comprising a mix of studio apartments along with two- and three-bedroom apartments.
The existing retail unit on the corner of St Marys Place will be retained, but it will be reduced in size to allow for the proposed development.
A planning statement reads: “The final proposals are the result of a detailed design process that responds to the built and natural context of the site. Designs have been developed to ensure a sensitive design solution that maximises the potential of the site.”
The plans have been designed by Swish Architecture.
