Finance duo back new national fire and security group

ThinCats, a Leicester-based provider of alternative finance for medium-sized businesses, has helped Hyperion Equity Partners finance the launch of Ranger Fire and Security.

This new national group in the fire and security industry combines two businesses.

Hyperion Equity Partners is a private investment firm that supports management teams and businesses looking to grow.

With ThinCats’ support, Hyperion invested significantly to acquire two companies, Amerex Fire International and Ignis Fire Protection, to create the new group.

Paul Mahon, Hyperion Equity Partners said: “In partnership with Stuart and the ThinCats team, we are delighted to be backing Ranger in their strategy to offer a market-leading service combined with an integrated offering for customers. The initial acquisitions provide a strong foundation for further growth and expansion in product and service offerings. We are excited by the future opportunities for the Group and look forward to supporting the Ranger team and their strategy.”

Ignis, established in 2012 and based in the Midlands, offers fire alarm, detection, and security services to over 300 clients across various sectors

Amerex, founded in 1988, specialises in suppression system installations and maintenance, including for vehicles, kitchens, and industrial settings, and distributes Amerex extinguishers in Europe.

Mark Bridges is now the CEO, alongside new CFO David Lee and Managing Director Ian Teader, leading the newly formed national group.

Bridges said: “We are excited to welcome Ignis Fire Protection and Amerex Fire International to the team, and this is only the start. We are always looking to collaborate with fire and security entrepreneurs and businesses to whom we can offer support to help them scale in line with their ambitions, and we fully expect to announce additional businesses joining our company very soon.”
