On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Derby-based Vibrant Accountancy has recruited an office manager to help with the day-to-day running of the company.

Kerry Morgan has previously worked for BB&J Commercial, Flint Bishop and Bates Weston and brings a wealth of experience with her.

Morgan said that the “caring ethos” at the Lodge Lane-based company is what attracted her to the role.

She addedL “It was clear from the moment I walked into the Vibrant office that they are a business with a caring ethos and that I’d be encouraged to be the very best that I can be in this job.

“Vibrant Accountancy are passionate about what they do and owner Bev Wakefield is a brilliant leader; she has boundless energy that is infectious.

“I am absolutely delighted to be working for Vibrant Accountancy and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the role.”

Morgan’s appointment brings the number of employees at Vibrant Accountancy to 10.

Owner Bev Wakefield said: “We have grand plans for Vibrant Accountancy in 2024, and Kerry will play a key part in helping us to grow. She complements the Vibrant team perfectly.”

Aysha Chouhdary

Law firm Geldards has announced the launch of a specialist Shariah Family law service to help guide clients through the complexities of the dissolution of a marriage under Islamic/Shariah Law.

The newly-created team is headed up by senior associate Aysha Chouhdary, who is one of the few family lawyers in the UK advising on religious, cultural and international jurisdiction issues and specifically on Shariah Law and Islamic Rulings.

With over ten years’ experience dealing with complex religious and cultural matters (often with an international element), Chouhdary is a multi-linguist, with languages including Urdu, Mirpuri, Punjabi, Hindi and English.

This new service for Muslim clients advises on the civil and religious aspects of Shariah Family Law, providing a sensitive understanding of cultural issues for clients based in the UK and overseas.

As well as offering advice on Nikah contracts alongside prenuptial agreements, the team advises clients in respect of Mahr issues, the validity of marriage, divorce and financial orders obtained abroad, Shariah divorce as well as financial matters and arrangements for children (keeping in minding Ramadan and Eid etc).

Chouhdary said: “I am really excited about launching this new service at Geldards LLP, having practiced in this niche area for over a decade. I am passionate about providing holistic family law advice, to all my clients, and understand the nuances of religious and cultural issues.”
